Weekend box office

“Tropic Thunder” was No. 1 for the third straight weekend as Hollywood’s summer season came to a close, while the thrillers “Babylon A.D.” and “Traitor” fared best among the new openers. The spoof “Disaster Movie” was a huge disappointment, as was the R-rated comedy “College” (which fell shy of the top 10, with $2.6 million). Sales in the U.S. and Canada, Aug. 29-Sept. 1:
