Luke Scott hit a two-run double in the four-run 10th inning as the Orioles batted around. Jim Johnson (1-0) threw two innings of one-hit relief.

at Kansas City 9, Cleveland 3: John Buck broke open a tight game with a grand slam in the eighth inning for his second home run of the game and had a career-high five runs batted in. It was his second career grand slam. The Indians (1-7) remained winless in five road games.

at Minnesota 3, Toronto 2 (11 inn.): Joe Crede’s double off the center-field fence in the 11th inning drove in Justin Morneau from first base to lift the Twins, who ended a losing streak against the Blue Jays at 10 games.
