BMO Names Brent Reston Chief Digital Officer, U.S. Banking
Brent Reston

BMO has appointed Brent Reston as chief digital officer, U.S. Banking, a newly created role that will lead how the bank develops and delivers digital, technology and AI-enabled capabilities across its U.S. business.

The role was created as BMO continues to grow its U.S. banking business and invest in the channels customers increasingly rely on to manage their financial lives.

In his new role, Reston will lead BMO’s U.S. digital banking strategy and work across U.S. Banking, Technology & Operations and North American Digital Platforms, bringing together responsibility for digital banking, business technology and AI innovation under a single leader. He will oversee the teams and capabilities that support the bank’s digital channels, with a focus on improving execution, strengthening coordination across the organization and ensuring investments are aligned with client, employee and business priorities.

“Our clients increasingly expect the same simplicity, speed and personalization from their bank that they experience elsewhere in their everyday lives,” said Aron Levine, president, BMO U.S. “As we continue growing our U.S. business, it’s critical that we deliver those experiences consistently across every channel. Brent will help us improve how we deliver capabilities across the bank and create better outcomes for both clients and employees.”

Reston brings more than 20 years of experience leading digital, product and operations teams at Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch. He has overseen large-scale modernization programs, digital product development and customer-facing initiatives across consumer and wealth businesses.
