Gary Conway of ‘Land of the Giants’ lists Brentwood French farmhouse

Actor and screenwriter Gary Conway of “Land of the Giants” fame has listed his home in the land of the Westside for sale at $2.95 million.

Found in Brentwood, the French farmhouse-style residence, built in 1977, borrows heavily from European influences and includes such touches as hand-plastered walls, wood-plank flooring and steel-frame windows.

Opening through a shaded entry, the 4,500 square feet of living space features a two-story living room with a fireplace and separate musician’s loft, a formal dining room with garden views and a kitchen with a separate fireplace. The second floor counts three bedrooms, three full baths and an art studio. A maid’s room resides on the lower level.

Outdoors, a patio and pool area sit among mature palms and native flora. Elaborate fountains and a terrace for entertaining also reside on the relaxed grounds.

Conway, 78, is known for his roles as Capt. Steve Burton in the Irwin Allen sci-fi series (1968-1970) and as Det. Tim Tilson in the detective series “Burke’s Law” (1963-1965). Among his film credits are “I was a Teenage Frankenstein” (1957) and “Over the Top” (1987).

Records show that Conway and his wife, former Miss America Marian Carmody, previously leased out the Brentwood property for more than a decade. Mary Lu Tuthill of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Brentwood is the listing agent.
