Hot Property: Stefan Richter lists his home in Santa Monica

Stefan Richter, a “Top Chef” runner-up and owner of the Santa Monica restaurant Stefan’s at L.A. Farm, has listed his Santa Monica bungalow for sale at $1.499 million.

Beyond the red front door, the 1945 house has a vintage vibe in its 945 square feet with oak floors and French doors. There are two bedrooms and 1.75 bathrooms.

As might be expected at the home of a professional chef, the kitchen is designed for function with marble counters, a vintage stove, a commercial refrigerator, an oversized stainless steel sink and slate floors. A herb garden sits near the kitchen door.

Outside, the property takes on a quirky charm. A Moroccan-inspired outdoor living space includes a water feature and two fire pits. Nearby is a custom Finnish sauna that Richter built himself and a post-sauna dunk bath.

Richter, 41, also owns restaurants in his native Finland.
