Three people were injured in a shooting on Skid Row on Thursday evening in downtown Los Angeles, according to authorities.

The group — two women and a man — was near the northeast corner of San Julian and 6th streets around 7:10 p.m. when a man walked up to them with a gun and started firing, according to LAPD Officer David Cuellar.

“This is where I do business,” the man allegedly said before shooting, the Los Angeles Police Department told City News Service.

The gunman fled on foot northbound on San Julian Street, according to the LAPD. The victims, described by police as a 21-year-old man, a 62-year-old woman and a woman in her 30s, were all hospitalized.

No further suspect information was available.

Later in the evening, another shooting was reported at 5th and Crocker streets after 11 p.m., police said.

A man between 40 and 50 years old was found with gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

No suspect information was available for that shooting and it was not immediately clear whether the two incidents were related.
