Offset is on the mend after he was shot in Florida earlier this week.
The former Migos rapper shared a statement on Instagram saying he was in “good” condition but “planning to be better.”
“I’m focused on my family, my recovery and getting back to the music ... realizing that life is made up of quiet wins and loud losses,” he wrote.
He continued: “Life’s a gamble and I’m still playing to win.”
A spokesperson for Offset told the Associated Press on Friday that he has been released from the hospital.
The rapper Offset was shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., on Monday evening and is currently in stable condition, a spokesperson confirmed to The Times.
Offset was shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., on Monday evening, following a fight near the hotel valet. Two people were detained in connection with the incident, and an investigation was ongoing, the Seminole Police Department told The Times earlier this week. Offset was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.
Tione Jayden Merritt, known professionally as Lil Tjay, was one of the people arrested in connection with the incident on Monday, the police department told The Times. The rapper’s apparent attorney denied on Instagram that he was involved in the shooting.
“Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting,” the statement reads.
Lil Tjay was arrested on charges including disorderly conduct in Florida. The rapper’s lawyer denies he was involved with Offset’s shooting.
Merritt, 24, was booked into Broward County Jail in Fort Lauderdale early Tuesday morning. He was charged with disorderly conduct and held as a result of a warrant stemming from a traffic-related case, according to law enforcement records. He was released Tuesday afternoon on a $3,000 bond.
Offset, whose birth name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, shares three children with estranged wife Cardi B. The 34-year-old rapper gained prominence as a member of the popular hip-hop trio Migos during the 2010s. Takeoff, Offset’s groupmate, was fatally shot in 2022 outside a Houston bowling alley.
Offset and Lil Tjay collaborated on the 2021 track “Run It Up.” According to Billboard, the duo’s relations later soured due to a dispute over gambling debt. Offset released his third studio album, “Kiari,” in August.
