"More than five hundred thousand Jewish settlers already reside among more than three million Palestinians in the West Bank, which has been designated as part of a future Palestinian state since the 1947 United Nations resolution that proposed the creation of the state of Israel. And the Israeli government’s support for those settlements has grown increasingly bold. During the eight years of the Obama Administration, Israel approved just three new settlements in the West Bank; since the start of 2023, roughly when the current Israeli government came to power, it has approved one hundred and four. It has authorized construction of more than fifty-eight thousand units of housing, and the total number of settlements and outposts has more than doubled over the same period, from about three hundred to about six hundred and forty. Violence against the Palestinians, meanwhile, has increased in tandem with the settlements, often perpetrated with the apparent protection or approval of the Israeli security forces. In 2016, the United Nations counted a hundred and seven settler attacks that damaged Palestinian property, caused Palestinian casualties, or both. Since 2023, the U.N. has documented more than fifty-three hundred—a rate of more than four a day. More than eleven hundred Palestinians in the West Bank have been killed either directly by settlers or by the Israeli security forces. (In the first seven months of 2026, there were at least one thousand three hundred and eighty settler attacks, a rate of more than six a day, and seventy-six Palestinians were killed.) Over the same three years, according to the U.N., demolitions and intimidation in the West Bank fully or partially displaced one hundred and seventeen Palestinian communities, uprooting over fifty-nine hundred Palestinians.

Where such assaults or evictions once occurred sporadically, (...) “now it is going haywire every day.”"

Gad, I’m in awe at our judical system and the critical thinking our judges displaysometimes…
“On Tuesday this week a momentous decision on freedom of speech and the issue of criticism of Israel was delivered by Justice Des Fagan, a senior member of the New South Wales Supreme Court. The decision is a wake-up call to politicians, universities and other institutions who have adopted the IHRA (International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance) definition of antisemitism, pushed by the partisan antisemitism commissioner Jillian Segal.”

Dear @Codeberg,

As an active member, I’d like to know what action will be taken against LinuxIsBest – the person mentioned below – and his account.

He is using Codeberg to spread Zionist lies about Gaza Verified (gaza-verified.org) and attempting to get people to mass block verified accounts of people on the fediverse facing genocide in Gaza at the hands of Israel.

As an anti-fascist organisation, I can only assume this goes against what we hold to be acceptable behaviour on our platform.

Thank you.

Question: Has chaos.social taken any action against the moderator who muted accounts that are Gaza Verified? I mean, you understand what an inhumane action this is, yes?

“These accounts are verified as belonging to people suffering genocide in Palestine. I will now mute them.”

That is not a “mistake.”

That is evil.

That is genocide complicity.

Is this person still moderating your instance?

Being in Israel is evoking such complex feelings in me.

I've been here before, but for the first time, I'm thinking "...I could live here." even though I know I'd find the situation difficult, maybe even impossible.

But there's one experience I can't escape here.. I walk down the street and I don't think about being hated for being Jewish.

That weight, which really didn't exist for me until 2016 or so, simply doesn't exist here. It's a weight on me that I hadn't even realized the extent until it's not there and I'd pay a lot to have...

There's a lot I don't like here, but that feeling of liberation is one I haven't felt in almost a decade.
