Mein Umzug am 4.8.26
in die Instanz Mastodon.social,
weil mir die Geduld fehlte,
die länger dauernde Instandsetzung bei Anoxinon (wo ich sonst seit 2022 sehr zufrieden war) abzuwarten, hatte Vor- und Nachteile.
Mir gefällt es hier gut, aber ich fange wieder "klein" an und versuche, weil es anfangs nicht komplett ging, meine Follower nach und nach wieder zu finden.
Es wird etwas dauern.

I noticed it early, checked the status page for mastodon.social, and left mastodon alone.

Figured the admins had enough headaches and they did not need users constantly refreshing.

Also, posted a thank you to the admins.

All is well.

Okay mastodon.social seems to be hit by a DDoS Attack. But in contrast to Bluesky, where whole network is down when the main instance has a hiccup, the impact for me is limited. Thats the strength of real decentralisation!

#mastodonSocial seems to have become the #twitter of the #fediverse. If the percentage of #badApples is constant, they obviously have the most. It is obviously against the ideals that created the whole thing. Size breeds power, and power corrupts.

Raw numbers are perhaps not enough to get across just how bad the centralisation of the Fediverse by mastodon.social is. I've done a chart to show this visually, hopefully this will make the situation clearer?

Given the circumstances, getting people to join other servers except mastodon.social would greatly help decentralise the Fediverse. It's no longer big vs medium vs small, it's more like supergiant deathstar mastodon.social vs everyone else 😞

a while ago I blocked #mastodonSocial because too much #antisemitism came from users at that instance. Lost a few followers, but so be it.

Ich sehe immer mehr Mastodon-Accounts, die zu Bluesky abwandern und inaktiv zurückbleiben. Schade – so sammeln sich Karteileichen in den Timelines und Follower-Listen, besonders frustrierend für alle #neuhier.
Daher meine Bitte: Wenn ihr pausiert oder wechselt, lasst eine kurze Info da oder löscht den Account. Ich werde inaktive Accounts (6+ Monate) künftig entfolgen. Mögen die Toten in Frieden ruhen.
