Gorman, is that you?

In years past, Michael Jantzen had taken plenty of pictures of the hills near Gorman when they were carpeted with wildflowers in spring. But this month, while he was moving there from Valencia, he was struck by a landscape radically changed by recent storms. “The light happened to be really great that day,” said Jantzen, who credited lingering clouds for adding contrast to this shot taken with his digital camera. His suggested title: “The Gorman poppies await their return.”
