Search underway for diver reported missing near Catalina

The U.S. Coast Guard says it is searching for a missing scuba diver off Catalina Island.
The Coast Guard said in a statement that it received a report from a 48-foot boat called the Sundiver Express that the female diver went missing about noon Tuesday near Isthmus Cove.
A Coast Guard patrol boat, cutter and helicopter searched for the woman along with a helicopter and divers from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The Coast Guard statement says the woman was an experienced diver who is about 45 years old.
