60 Freeway reopened after man with knife taken into custody

The 60 Freeway in Ontario was expected to open soon after authorities took a man with a knife into custody Tuesday night.
The highway was closed at Euclid Avenue in both directions for hours while police tried to talk a man wielding a knife into safely coming down from the overpass, officials said. The incident began at about 6 p.m. and the man was taken into custody at about 10:20 p.m.
Officers used a Taser to take the man into custody, Ontario Police Det. Bill Russell said.
Terry Kasinga, a California Department of Transportation spokeswoman, said traffic was backed up for 15 to 20 miles.
All lanes were closed in both directions, the department said on Twitter, referring to a “suicidal subject.”
