Letters: Parking meter madness

Re “Broken parking meter no free ride,” Dec. 6

The Los Angeles City Council’s vote to retain the practice of ticketing cars parked at broken meters is an act of theft.

In a city with far too few parking spots, what possible sense does it make to punish someone for parking at a meter that the city has failed to repair? Kudos to City Councilwoman Jan Perry for voting against this travesty.
