Re “Summers ends bid to be Fed chief,” Sept. 16
In his letter to President Obama withdrawing his name from consideration for chairman of the Federal Reserve, Lawrence H. Summers wrote that he “reluctantly concluded that any possible confirmation process for me would be acrimonious and would not serve the interests of the Federal Reserve, the administration or, ultimately, the interests of the nation’s ongoing economic recovery.”
Am I the only one who sees the irony in Summers backing away from an acrimonious exchange?
