Lakers rank 10th in rebounding but still getting beaten on the boards

Despite sitting 10th in the league at 44.35 rebounds a game, the Lakers are getting outworked on the glass.

The Lakers are also allowing their opponents to collect a league-high 47 boards a game.

Pau Gasol leads the Lakers at 10.2 rebounds a game and Jordan Hill collects a solid 8.6, but the Lakers are still playing at a deficit.

The Lakers play at a fast pace, taking 86.2 shots a game, third most in the NBA. They’re also shooting a relatively low percentage from the field at 43.8% (20th overall).

More shots and fewer makes lead to more rebounds for both teams.

While the Lakers’ overall field-goal efficiency is low -- 43.8%, or 20th in the NBA -- they’re fourth in the league from three-point range at 41.2%. Only the Houston Rockets (26.9 a game) take more three-point shots than the Lakers (25.8).

Flaws and all, the Lakers have been playing well without Kobe Bryant (Achilles’ tendon), winning five of their last six games to improve to 9-8 on the season.
