Usain Bolt, Mo Farah show their stuff in victories

The past weekend offered a chance for two of track’s biggest names to reassert their dominance of the sport. Sort of.
Mo Farah of Britain recovered from a difficult season to win the 5,000 meters at the European Championships on Sunday, completing a 5,000-10,000 sweep -- a feat he had previously accomplished at the world championships and the Olympics.
“It’s been a brilliant championship for me,” he said. “It gives me good confidence.”
Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt was not as thrilled by his 100-meter victory in a special event in Rio de Janeiro. Running at that distance for the first time this season, Bolt finished the “Mano a Mano” in 10.06 seconds.
“The race was OK,” he said. “My first part wasn’t as explosive as I wanted it to be but overall I think I executed well.”
The world’s fastest man expressed hope that he’ll run faster in two upcoming races.
