Hawaii airfare sale: $149 Honolulu-San Diego on new Alaska Airlines route

I love introductory airfares that airlines offer when they start new service because they nearly always involve crazy low prices. Case in point: $149 each way from San Diego to Honolulu this winter after Alaska Airlines starts daily nonstop service in November. Need I say more?
The deal: Alaska Airlines’ Introducing San Diego to Honolulu fares start at $149 each way plus tax and fees. Yes, this airfare is super-low but my research shows that this price isn’t available on all dates. So be flexible if you want the rock-bottom rate.
When: Travel is good from Nov. 17 through Dec. 15, but you must buy tickets by July 25. Some blackout dates apply.
Tested: I found availability for the $149 rate each way from San Diego International Airport (SAN) to Honolulu International Airport (HNL) on Nov. 28 and returning Dec. 5; prices don’t include tax and fees. I also found more seats available for $199 plus tax and fees each way -- still a good deal. Bear in mind that seats likely will go quickly once word gets out.
