Beverly Hills: Peninsula hotel turns 20 and celebrates with a third night’s stay for $20

Los Angeles Times Travel & Deal blogger

Most would consider a stay at the Peninsula Beverly Hills more splurge than steal. But the luxury hotel turns 20 this year and with that comes the special offer of a third night for $20.

The deal: The 20th Anniversary Package also includes a breakfast credit of $20 each for two, a 20% discount on spa as well as food and beverage charges, a $20-a-night rate for valet parking (usually $36 a night), two free Pen 20 cocktails (described as a classic rum punch with fresh blackberries and ginger) and a gift. Rooms with this package start at $585 a night plus tax.

When: The offer is good through July 5 and Aug. 6-Dec. 22, subject to availability.

Tested: From the hotel’s home page, check “Enticements” to find details of this deal. I checked online and found the package available for three nights starting July 1 for a room with a double or king-size bed.

My stay, with the $20 rate, would cost about $397 a night, plus tax. In a check of the same room on the same night, the hotel’s standard rate without the package costs $585 a night plus tax. So enjoy the luxury and the extras -- and a little savings on a splurge too.
