Gear: Hat and mittens protect against the chill of it all

Getting children to bundle up in hats and mittens for those cold-weather vacations might be less of a chore if fun were involved.

It is, thanks to the folks at Aurora World and their new animal-shaped Mitts ’n Hat.

The combination hat, scarf and mittens consists of a plush animal-head hat with two 35-inch-long dangling plush “legs” that function as a scarf and culminate in foot-shaped mittens.

The wild outerwear comes in monkey, tiger, giraffe, panda or alligator. Because the entire outfit is one piece, there’s no misplacing a lone mitten.
