Daily Deal: Waikoloa Beach Marriott puts rooms on sale for $179

Now that Independence Day has passed, it’s not too early to plan a Labor Day getaway. If Hawaii is on the horizon, the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on Hawaii’s Big Island has discounted rooms to $179 a night through late September.
The deal: The 555-room hotel is located on 15 acres facing Anaehoomalu Bay, less than 20 miles from Kona International Airport. There’s no special code needed to find this deal; it came up easily when I checked online.
When: The offer is good through July 31 for stays through Sept. 28.
Tested: I found availability for a room with double or king-sized beds over Labor Day weekend (from Aug. 29 to Sept. 3) for $179 a night plus $25 daily resort fee and tax. The same room after the sale ends (I checked December) starts at $235 plus resort fee, so there’s some savings for those who go soon.
