Bless Peter Greenberg for exposing the rental car industry for what it is--lousy! (Singing the Rental Car Blues, May 24.) I rented cars in countries all over the world and my experience has always been similar. I could quote horror stories every bit as bad, or worse, than his New York City experience. Although I prefer the freedom of a rental car, my last two trips have been by bus tour. Something has to be done about the exorbitant costs, the miserable check-in procedure and the poor condition of the vehicles.
