Super 580 Aircraft Co. of Carlsbad reported an agreement in principle with the Allison Gas Turbine Division of General Motors to take over production, marketing and FAA certification of a proposed 76-passenger, stretched Convair Super 580 airliner.
“Regional airlines and freight carriers will be our biggest customers,” Super 580 Aircraft Co. president Ted Vallas said.
Vallas said the first order for the airliner will come from his wholly owned Air Resorts Airlines.
