British Airways Gives Away Tickets: The company, hoping to jump-start the depressed airline industry, began a giveaway of 50,000 tickets. The airline, stung by a steep decrease in passenger loads because of the Gulf War and the recession, launched the $27.8-million “Total Recovery” promotion March 21.
