Spotlight: Toshiba Unveils Purse-Size Computer

The nation’s largest portable-computer maker unveiled a full-featured notebook Monday that weighs in at a scant 1.85 pounds. Irvine-based Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. rolled out its purse-size Libretto as part of a lineup that includes a new high-powered laptop priced at under $2,000 and sharply upgraded replacements for the rest of a portable line that outstripped the competition last year. Analysts said the notebook’s small size could be difficult to market to a mass audience.
