Dow Jones

AMDL Inc., a Tustin developer of diagnostic tests for diseases, said Monday that the Food and Drug Administration has given the company clearance to market a test to detect antibodies to a bacteria known to cause ulcers and, if untreated, stomach cancer.

AMDL said its diagnostic test is a direct enzyme immunoassay that determines if there are antibodies to the bacteria, Helicobacter pylori, in a patient’s blood.

AMDL said it is discussing marketing programs for the test with distributors.
