The Laguna Niguel manufacturer of engineered polymer components for the commercial and health-care markets said net income for the first fiscal quarter ended May 1 rose 9% to a record $5.9 million, or 32 cents a share, from $5.4 million, or 29 cents a share, for the same period last year. Sales increased 1% to $121.4 million from $119.8 million.
