Alcatel to Buy Assured Access

French telecom group Alcatel said it agreed to buy Assured Access Technology, a Milpitas, Calif.-based developer of remote-access solutions for the Internet protocol market, for $350 million in cash. Internet protocol technology allows for high-speed, high-volume voice and data communications via the Internet. The transaction is expected to close in about two weeks.
