Eric Wedel is a partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, where he leads the firm’s Los Angeles office. He specializes in high-stakes M&A financing and has personally orchestrated the finance side of approximately $200 billion in transactions over the past two years. Since late 2023, he has expanded the Century City team from four to nearly 30 attorneys, establishing a preeminent destination for private equity sponsors including Warburg Pincus, Hg Capital and Stonepeak. Wedel’s recent transactions include advising on the €15.7-billion financing for Keurig Dr Pepper’s acquisition of JDE Peet’s, leading the financing for the $15.5-billion acquisition of Truist Insurance Holdings and ongoing financing work for Los Angeles-based sponsors, including Diversis Capital and Leonard Green Partners. He successfully established the regional office as a foremost private equity hub since its launch in late 2023, with the office now also home to a nationally preeminent product liability defense team, and real estate and general corporate advisors.
