Largest Law Firms in Orange County
Law offices in Orange County consist of a diverse mix of local and national firms led by Rutan & Tucker, a regional firm with 146 attorneys at its Irvine headquarters. It is followed by Irvine-based Knobbe Martens, which has 117 attorneys in Orange County. Littler’s Orange County office had a change in leadership as of Feb. 1. Shannon Boyce became the office managing shareholder in Irvine and holds that title for the firm’s L.A. office as well.
OC firms are focusing on Korean companies. BakerHostetler added Jung Kim, who has more than 15 years of experience in patent prosecution, litigation, IP licensing and cross‑border tech transactions, and as in‑house counsel for a major Korean company. He supports the firm’s new Korea Practice, aiding companies entering or operating within the U.S. with M&A, regulatory compliance, technology licensing, disputes and sector‑specific support. Kim’s arrival strengthens BakerHostetler’s trans-Pacific advisory capabilities. Meanwhile, Sam Yu, managing partner of Kahana Feld’s Irvine office, was appointed president of the newly formed National Korean-American Bar Association.
Overall, the top 50 largest law firms with offices in Orange County employ 2,153 attorneys in local offices. That includes more than 940 partners, associates, counsel and other staff attorneys. As a group, they employ approximately 3,800 people in Orange County, which includes attorneys, paralegals and support staff.
