Oregon Is Spending More Than Ever on Low-Income Housing. A State Law Keeps the Details Secret.
---

The state has given developers an unprecedented $1.4 billion, and the cost of developing each subsidized apartment has nearly doubled. But, thanks to a carve-out in its public records law, Oregon doesn’t have to provide the details of that spending.

"Rally denounces ‘ICE terror’ in Springfield after resident detained"

“A threat to one of us is a threat to all of us. The same mechanisms that allow for ICE to instill fear in our community can be used against anybody. Our greatest strength is to organize and communicate with one another"

How Portland, OR Is Handling #ICE Opposition

It is not enough to abolish ICE – the Police must be abolished!

'A #Portland activist delivered a petition with 19,000+ signatures demanding the city revoke the ICE permit. The city had her arrested. Days later, a councilor proposed allowing council members to openly carry firearms while conducting city business......'

Eagle Cap Wilderness: Day 3

Began the day by fording a swift river for the first time. Exhilarating! Then headed up Polaris Pass. What started as a beautiful climb through Lupine and other wildflowers turned into steep scree with about 4 inches of footing in places. Didn’t love that. Was very relieved to make it to the top. Slipped descending some melty snow on the backside of the pass but recovered. Lessons learned!

Eagle Cap Wilderness: Day 2

This was my most insane day of backpacking. 26 miles over 17(!) hours and 5700 feet of gain. I met a guy Isaac in the lakes basin who was also going to attempt Eagle Cap. Thankfully, he had more experience than me. There were some sketchy parts but we made it fine. We descended down steep granite scree and then glissaded down a couple snowy slopes. Next, we went over Glacier Pass. Very fun!

Eagle Cap Wilderness: Day 1

I’m backpacking in the Wallowa Mountains for the first time and it’s as incredible as I imagined. Caught beautiful reflections at Ice Lake before the wind started. Climbed up to 9200 feet on the Matterhorn. Maybe it’s a healthy fear but I said nope to climbing near vertical scrambles and snow fields. Would love to learn how to safely someday. Heading towards Eagle Cap in the morning.

Sharing a recent photo that very likely was the furthest I have ever gone for a photo. Whatever news the day may bring, know we can all go much farther than we think we can. This photo is proof. I have never gone that far, I wasn’t sure if I could or even should and now I share what you put into your mind you can do. Believe in yourself. These are words I need to hear today, this post might be more to me than to you but I truly hope it can resonate with you too. If you have a big idea, don’t hold it in, share it. We have amazing tools built to connect online with amazing people all around the world, let’s support the change we wish to see together.
