Drones are becoming an essential part of many industries.

This short video shows how in China Drones are used for agriculture, construction, transportation of animals and cars and fire fighting of cloud scrapers.

"Uncertainties in future food security will remain large."

"Out of 42 models, 10 models show climate outcomes at a 2 °C warming that are well beyond the multimodel mean at 4 °C of global warming (Fig. 3b). This stresses the need for a careful assessment of their plausibility by evaluating the underlying physical processes. Yet, regardless of pending plausibility checks, these results also call for examining the potential impacts of extreme climate outcomes on global crop production through crop modelling, which can incorporate factors such as irrigation, soil properties and complex management practices."

Dismissing severe drought with "I can't make it rain" shows dangerous political myopia. Agriculture faces structural climate risks, not temporary bad weather. Ignoring soil degradation and crop loss accelerates agriflation and supply shocks. Dismissing the crisis won't refill aquifers or protect food security.

Making maize more resilient

Congratulations to everyone involved in the application for a new Research Unit in agricultural sciences. Together with international partners across Europe and Africa, researchers at our Uni will investigate the impact of multiple stresses on crop physiology and productivity: uni-goettingen.de/en/3240.html…. Are flower strips enough?

Strips of land planted with flowers between fields are much loved: they are beautiful and attract bees and butterflies. But is that enough for #Biodiversity? Researchers at our Uni say more diversity and collaboration across the landscape is needed: uni-goettingen.de/en/3240.html…

Hi folks! I'm Taylor. I live in the United States, and am connected to New Zealand through family and friends. I haven't yet visited, and am planning to come for a working holiday year as soon as I get the means.

I am big into ecological design, architecture and planning, as well as organic gardening and permaculture. In this phase of my life, I'm mainly looking to travel and find a community (human and otherwise) where I'd feel content to put roots down and plant seeds with the long-term future in mind. I'd love to travel New Zealand, meet other Earth-minded people, and get some work experience alongside you folks.

Happy to connect on here with anyone who's an outdoorsman, a gardener, farmer, traveler, or otherwise nature-minded.

Sonoma Valley is always a beautiful place to take a drive to no matter what time of year you decide to do it. My favorite time of the year though is at the peak of the fall color season. This can be easier said then done though as it is very difficult to judge when the peak season will be.

"Morocco rolls out a phosphorous-fueled plan to heal soils across Africa." "Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, known locally as UM6P, has plans for more agriculture labs, dubbed experimental farms, beyond Morocco; Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Ghana, Ethiopia and seven other countries are on the list. Together, the labs will form a network called the Agricultural Innovation and Technology Transfer Center."

"In the past, Moroccans followed standard fertilizer recommendations to add nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium to their soil regardless of location, climate, crop or other factors."

"The stakes are high: 21% of Africans still face severe hunger."

Bei reifem Raps, können sich bei starkem Regen oder Hagel die Schoten von selbst öffnen und es entstehen Ernteverluste. Wer zu spät kommt, den bestraft das Leben.

Hi,

my name is Andreas, electrical engineer in Germany and i'm working as independent embedded Linux developer and trainer with an emphasis on kernel drivers, realtime and system programming.

In my part-time job i'm working as organic farmer with red deers, bees, pigs, tillage, forest and so on.

My interests are in sustainable technical and/or agricultural systems:
How can we come along with less engergy, raw materials and effort from a wholistic view?

Andreas
