#Quicksy registrations are permanently closed.
The project was viable for a long time only because it required minimal effort. However, fighting industrial-scale SMS pumping fraud has become unsustainable, both financially and in terms of workload.

The XMPP server will remain online for the foreseeable future, but users are advised to switch their client to #Conversations_im.

Looking at #Conversations_im / #Quicksy in the Play Store and #Fdroid :
It seems to me as if it takes much longer now until updates are approved by Google. Meanwhile, updates at F-Droid seem to get faster.

Thanks Google and @fdroidorg for making it even more attractive for the average user to switch the store.

Update, May, 24th: Conversations_im just arrived in Play Store, Quicksy still pending.

Ich habe in den letzten 12 Jahren viele nicht-technische Menschen aus meinem Bekanntenkreis zu #Jabber gebracht. Weitgehend problemlos.

Zu 80 % #Conversations_im bzw. #Quicksy, zu 10 % #Monal und 10 % (incl. mir selbst) #Dino oder #Gajim.

Aber ich verwende gar keine verschlüsselten Gruppen. Macht das vielleicht den Unterschied aus?

Generell ist mit #forwardSecrecy immer alles viel fragiler als ohne. Der Verzicht von DC auf #PFS war wohl 'ne gute Idee!

it is very close to #quicksy in current state as we started from quicksy. It offers a choice to users - they can choose either Quicksy or #Prav without considering what their friends are using and users of either app can talk to users of the other app. We made small changes already like changing SMS provider so it works in countries like Nepal and Brazil where Quicksy SMS don't get delivered. We hope to offer custom username option and may eventually get other features.

Wuenschte ich mir, mit allen Leuten darueber kommunizieren zu koennen? Klar.
