So it was only yesterday when I learned that some of the spiritual and work songs sung by Black slaves here in the US were used to communicate messages and directions on how to escape.

"Harriet Tubman; a significant American Abolitionist who saved many enslaved Africans from slavery through the Underground Railroad used songs such as “Go Down Moses," to indicate safety and “Wade in the Water” to signal escapees to get in the water to hide their scent."

Gute und coole deutsche Mucke für Kinder?
Frage an die Musikaffinen unter euch: habt ihr Tipps für deutschsprachige Musik für Grundschulkinder (4./5. Klasse)? Die WiseGuyes finden sie super, auch Seeed und Culcha Candela sind prima. Allerdings muss ich da immer etwas mit den nicht ganz jugendfreien Texten aufpassen.
Techno ist nichts. Paule Platsch, Frederik Wale & Co sind inzwischen zu Kindergarten für sie.
Die Band kann durchaus vielfältig instrumentiert sein - Blues Brothers sind cool. Rock'n'Roll (See you Later - Jail House Rock) ist der Renner. Elektro-Swing läuft rauf und runter, Ska ist zum Tanzen, ... ist aber halt alles auf Englisch.
