Real estate practice groups advise on issues specific to property rights such as zoning, building codes, environmental regulations, financing and transactions. The list is led by Cox, Castle & Nicholson, a regional firm that specializes in commercial real estate. Overall, it has more than 140 attorneys across the state with offices in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and San Francisco.
Transactions can have complex requirements such as financing through multiple sources. Others could have multiple issues across disciplines. For example, Nixon Peabody’s health care group recently represented Tenor Health Foundation in its acquisition of three acute care hospitals in Pennsylvania from affiliates of Community Health Systems Inc. The deal was led by Alexandra Busto, Harsh Parikh and Patrick Callaghan, who served as deal and regulatory counsel for Tenor’s hospital and physician group acquisitions. They helped secure regulatory approvals at the local county levels and from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and advised on a range of issues, including labor and employment, financing and nonprofit matters.
“We are proud to support Tenor in this acquisition that allows them to steward these essential community hospitals into their next chapter,” said Alexandra Busto, Nixon Peabody’s health care partner, in a statement.
Overall, the 25 largest real estate practice groups in Los Angeles County reported 530 attorneys practicing the specialty in local offices, including 275 partners.
