Yeah, bored at work. Everyone else here is too. Anyway I was reading NY Magazine and there was an article about data centers and their political dimensions. And the author said that people's concerns about water consumption are overblown, and as an example, he linked to this Snopes article.

It's bleak and also funny because yes, Zuck's data center isn't taking water directly from the Rio Grande, so in that sense the viral story that it "drained the Rio Grande dry" is a bit of social media panic & misinformation. But the true story is that the center uses tens of millions of gallons per year and that is mostly from the municipal supply of a small village, it's mostly ground water, and it's in the Rio Grande valley.
Aquifer levels have a major impact on river levels. Like. Where do you think the water in a river comes from especially in a place where rain is not plentiful?

I recently released a little CLI tool called #sned.
It uses #Iroh to set up secure #E2EE #QUIC connections between two computers, even if they're both behind NAT or firewalls.
The CLI uses short `@aliases` instead of keys (or Iroh "tickets") for dialing. And you can exchange keys with a short one-time-use code.
It started as a quick way to send messages/files between computers. But in v0.3.0, you can now use `tcp-connect` to proxy SSH connections too.
